Anti Doping
The Scottish Council of Taekwon-Do is committed to promoting fair and drug-free competition. Every athlete has the right to participate in sport knowing that they are competing on a level playing field.
We work closely with UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) and our international governing bodies to uphold the highest standards of integrity within Taekwon-Do. Athletes, coaches, and Athlete Support Personnel (ASPs), including parents and guardians, involved in talent development programmes or selection pathways are expected to understand and comply with all UKAD and World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) regulations.
The use of banned substances or any form of doping damages the reputation of sport and undermines the efforts of clean athletes who train and compete fairly.
Consent for Testing of Minors
Under the UK Anti-Doping Rules, all participants in Taekwon-Do, including those under the age of 18, may be subject to drug testing.
By allowing a young person to participate in Taekwon-Do activities, competitions, or events, parents and guardians are considered to have provided consent for anti-doping testing where required. Further information about the testing process can be found on the UK Anti-Doping website.
All competitors entering Scottish Council of Taekwon-Do sanctioned events should be aware of and agree to the anti-doping requirements outlined within the event entry documentation and competitor declarations.
Anti-Doping Rules
The Scottish Council of Taekwon-Do adopts and follows the UK Anti-Doping Rules as published and updated by UK Anti-Doping (UKAD). These rules form part of the regulations governing all athletes, coaches, officials, and athlete support personnel involved in Scottish Council of Taekwon-Do activities.
The UK Anti-Doping Rules are aligned with the World Anti-Doping Code and provide the framework for anti-doping procedures and responsibilities throughout the United Kingdom and international sport.
